WASHINGTON, Sept 28 (Reuters) – The World Bank board will discuss plans next month to replace the bank’s annual “Doing Business” ranking, World Bank President David Malpass said. The ranking was withdrawn in September 2021 after an external report found data irregularities.
Malpass said Wednesday at an event hosted by Stanford University that there are still questions about how to assess a country’s business environment, but the bank and its various affiliates, including the International Finance Corporation, are working to continue to encourage private sector investment.
